We are a small group of young, local cineastes with varying backgrounds and tastes, but similarly passionate views on film, video, and new media.

Our goal in creating the CINE-LIST, week after week, is to highlight the most exciting, rare, and under-publicized cinema events happening in Chicago.

Our focus is independent, underground, experimental/avant-garde, and repertory/revival (or, in a word, alternative) cinema, since mainstream cinema has all the exposure it needs.

Our recommendations are informed by personal knowledge, comprehensive research, and the distinguished opinions of trusted film writers (such as local critics Jonathan Rosenbaum and Fred Camper).
